About the Artist

As a photojournalist with a background in documentary, photography, YouTube, animation, and fine arts, I bring a unique perspective and an exceptional eye for detail to every project. My focus on first-person narratives and the use of archival footage in storytelling earned recognition for my documentary short films during my time at the University of Connecticut, where I earned a BFA in Digital Media & Design. My experience with YouTube has given me a strong understanding of social media and audience engagement, while staying creative and always brainstorming new ideas. Additionally, my start in fine arts and animation has informed my approach to visual storytelling, emphasizing the importance of composition, lighting, and color.

I am passionate about the power of visual storytelling to connect people and share important stories. With a year of experience as a photojournalist at KUSI-TV and now KGTV ABC 10News, I have covered a range of events and issues in the community. I have often taken on the role of a multimedia journalist when there are no reporters present, interviewing locals, filming, writing package scripts, and then editing them to air. I gained valuable experience in video editing, narrative construction, and building strong relationships and communication with those I worked with, both in the newsroom and out in the field.

I also traveled to Morocco this past April with a group of citizen storytellers, partnering with locally-led change making organizations to produce content that amplifies their work and gives back to the communities we entered into. In addition to my media making background I also minored in sociology in college, and am very interested in ethics and the impact of my work on the community.

Originally from Hudson Valley, NY, I am excited to bring my experience and skills to every new project I undertake and continue to hone my craft as a visual storyteller. My goal is to use all the knowledge that I’ve acquired to tell stories that matter, make an impact in local communities, and utilize my skills for human rights and social advocacy work. I want to use the knowledge I’ve acquired to make a difference in the lives of others.
